What would you highlight about Jungala House
It has a bed and fan and I could lock the door but had little confidence it was anymore than a visual deterent. I could park my motorbike off the highway.
It was simply filthy. I have lived in and toured thailand for the past four years and I have not seen a room that was as dirty as this. I want to be clear, this is not a moan about the floor having dust on it, or bedding that might have been a little grubby - I accept this in a low budget room. The room was 'institutionally dirty', it clearly has benefitted from a very long period of neglect and near zero in capital investment. I say near zero capital investment becuase the door frame had been repaired around the lock area - clearly damaged and one can conclude that was from a forced entry. The floor tiles in the shower room have a layer of black discolouring that is highlighted by a single patch that was clean (and a lovely bright blue it was). The toilet bowl clearly has not seen any (and I mean any) form of cleaning on any part of the surface for such a long time that it was terribly discoloured, black in places and simply very poor in condition. The plastic toilet seat surface was deteriorating and must have been very old. The floor outside of the shower room would collect water and not drain away, it remained like that through out my stay. The wall tiles in the shower room / toilet had a similar build up of dirty and grime to the floor - there is no way any cleaning of any sort has happened. The pillows on the bed has freshly laundered slips on, but the pillows themself were near brown with various stains, again this does not happen quickly and further highlights the institutional neglect regarding cleanliness. The window curtains were intack but so dirty.No water supplied, which is generally the norm in Asia. Two towels supplied for a 7 night stay. No attempt to clean the room or change towels. I would see people sweep rooms out when they were vacant and the staff even wore long wellington boots - brought a smile to my face. The staff here appear to live on the ground floor and two were nice to talk with.

What would you highlight about Jungala House
No frills, but it's an amazing location, clean, and has a nice courtyard. Super helpful front desk staff. Located just a few blocks from Zoe in Yellow and walking distance from most attractions in the old city.
Stronger wifi, sometimes it cut out.

What would you highlight about Jungala House
The staff was really nice and the Location is amazing, espacially if you come to enjoy the night Life of Chiang Mai. You’re a walking distance from most things I’m Chiang Mai, 20 Minutes to night bazar, 20 min to warrarot market and 5 minutes from Sunday walking street. Very good and powerful showers and they even had shelves and wardrobes to put your clothes if you’re staying a longer time
If you Didnt come to enjoy the night Life in Chiang Mai its very hard to sleep before midnight since it’s just a few steps away from the party area of Zoe in yellow...
